DROP-IN VISITS
I look after all your kitty's needs at each visit, including: food, litter, basic medication, play and cuddles. I also send you photos and videos.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
I am a devoted cat mom of five rescues living in St. Albert who believes every cat deserves a safe, comfortable home. I have had cats all my life, with many having health issues requiring daily medication and specialized diets. Therefore, I’m comfortable providing medicine to other’s fur babies and understanding their nutritional needs.
My love for animals prompted me to co-found the volunteer-run Hanna S.P.C.A. Pet Rescue & Shelter in 2005. To date, over 1000 animals have found their furever homes. Volunteering for multiple animal rescues, I saw they were all dealing with the same problem, overpopulation of animals due to their lack of spaying and neutering. I am committed to reducing Edmonton’s population of over 60,000 unowned cats through a city-wide Trap Neuter Return (TNR) program. Meisha loves everyone, but Izzy, who is normally very timid, was coming up to her during the meet and greet…you know what they say about animals…they can “sense” a good person when they meet them! "I travel monthly for business, and my beautiful Princess Isabella requires someone to attend to her every need and whim in the comfort of her own home. Having just recently been diagnosed with Stage 3 renal failure, she also needs someone who is knowledgeable, caring and compassionate when it comes to tending to a fur baby with medical issues. I put out into the Universe a request for an “angel kitty sitter,” and Chara showed up!! Chara met with me and Isabella before I left to get the world of what kind of care and attention Izzy required, as well as to see our home. While I was away, Chara took Izzy to a vet appointment, gave her the medications she required, gave her the attention she needed, fed her (which is a challenge with renal kitties because they are so fussy ), brought her catnip, and sent me updates, photos and videos daily (which made me feel more relaxed about leaving her). "I hired Chara to look after our cats when we went to Disneyland. We had just gotten a new kitten (Milo) a month before the trip and we were still in the process of introducing him to Toulouse, our 3-year-old cat. Milo was also on medication at the time. "I highly recommend Chara as a cat sitter. Chara's calm and confident presence not only helped my kitties to feel comfortable and safe, it helped to relieve much of my anxiety and worry over leaving my kitties. My girls have a tendency to hide when they feel anxious and I had actually warned Chara of this and that she may not see much of them. Quite the opposite happened. They were curious and Chara did not disappoint when they wanted to check her out. By day 2 they were appearing randomly and by day 3 they were joining her and engaging in play with her. Chara is highly knowledgeable about kitties and it certainly showed in how she won over my girls so quickly. Also, my worry was quickly reduced by Chara's consistent updates, videos and pictures which allowed me to enjoy my time away even more. Our flights home were disrupted by an ice storm and while we quickly tried to get on new flights, Chara offered to do what she could to ensure our girls continued to be cared for. "Our family was incredibly grateful that Chara took care of our kittens, Lily and Bandit, over the Christmas holidays. She came to our house beforehand to meet the cats and fully understand their needs. Chara is so good with animals, I knew they were in good hands. She also asked questions about our house and offered to let us know if anything went wrong with our water, heat, power, etc. This satisfied our home insurance rules while away, which was an added bonus. "We had Chara stay at our house and take care of our cats for over five days while we took a small vacation. We cannot say enough good about her and the excellent job she did. We met beforehand to introduce the cats and go over their needs (some need medications, and one is kind of a grump), and she was very attentive and took great care to make sure she understood what the cats required. This, along with her obvious love and knowledge of cats, left us quite confident that our fur babies would be well attended to while we were away.
She followed through on this to perfection while we were gone. She gave us frequent updates on them and sent pictures, and even gave us some new ideas on giving them medication. When we returned, the cats were happy, the house was in great shape, and we were left thoroughly thrilled. In fact, she has followed up to see how our one cat is feeling as he had been sick while she catsat.
In terms of the details, we found the price very reasonable and the professionalism of Chara immaculate. The paperwork and visit that comes before her stay is thorough and ensures a good knowledge of the cats and home prior to the stay, which is fantastic.
